About Alison

Alison Skinner is a queer Austin-based figure painter focusing on the portrayal of all bodies, specifically black and brown bodies, that have been underrepresented in the fine art realm of figure art. As a person of mixed race, and ethnicity their French British West Indian background inspires her to personify herself as means to understand the beauty of diversity within herself and others. Their study of bodies reflects a deep admiration and tenderness that encourages self exploration and acceptance toward ourselves and humanity in general
