Once upon a time, I was on the other side of the sketchpad drawing away in the same figure modeling sessions. Now i’m up on the stage, in the classrooms and galleries coming full circle into experiencing what it means to be figurative artist.

Alison Skinner is a figurative artist & model, focusing on the portrayal of all bodies, specifically black and brown bodies, that have been underrepresented in the fine art realm of figure art. Filling a space where black & brown bodies are a far and few between in this space, involuntarily exposing artists and viewers to beautiful renditions and artworks of me & bodies alike!
