β˜† sasha gordon is one my favorite artist. any figurative art lover should know who she is. she self portraiture, the storytelling and color work is unreal. her ability to make hyper realistic scenes while distorting figures and over emphasizing certain details is INSANE. capturing herself in these very real scenes and still comes off so emotional & magical, shows how talented this person is β˜†

5/5

as a self portrait artist myself, I love Sasha Gordon. she’s a Rhode Island school of design graduate, a dream every artists has when they think of going to university. I’m mostly inspired by the fact that she makes this type of work. I don’t find myself replicating her work in any way, it’s not the way I my tell story at the moment, but I enjoy absorbing and admiring her level of talent and presence in the fine art realm, specifically in New York City. One day I hope I can be brave enough to crest more personal scenes about my life the way she does. I was so happy to have pulled this prompt as my last painting, bc either way if I would have gotten β€œevil” or β€œartist” I was gonna paint this beauty of a photo.
